MemeWeft — Privacy Policy

MemeWeft is a meme-captioning party game at memeweft.com, operated by Michael Hatkevich, who also makes WordWeft. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how you can delete it.

Shared account with WordWeft

MemeWeft runs on the same Google Firebase project as WordWeft and Wefty. If you sign in with Google, it is the same account in all of them. Deleting your account removes your data from all of them.

What we collect

• Anonymous account ID. Created on your device the first time you open the game. It lets you join rooms without signing in.
• Google account info — only if you choose to sign in with Google. We store your email address, display name, and profile photo URL. Sign-in is optional.
• Name and avatar. The display name and avatar you pick, shown to the other players in your room.
• Room data. The captions you write, your votes, and the scores for each game, stored in a room that other players join with a code.
• On your device. Your name, avatar, sound setting and last room are kept in your browser's local storage.

Analytics

The website (memeweft.com) counts anonymous page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, stores no personal data, and does not track you across sites.

Who we share with

• Google Firebase — our backend (Authentication and Realtime Database). Their handling of your data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare — hosts the site and provides Web Analytics. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

Other players in your room see your name, avatar and captions. We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers.

Retention & deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. To delete your account and its data, email wordweftgame@gmail.com from the address on the account, or follow the steps at wordweft.net/delete-account.html. We process requests within 30 days.

Children

MemeWeft is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
